Salford Baby Bank from Daughters of Salford are thankful to the Salford community for their generous donations to their charity during this difficult time.
The charity’s mission is prevention and provision so that every son and daughter of the City of Salford have what they need to grow and thrive.
Without the help of the community and their donations, this would seem difficult to achieve.
Salford resident and founder of Daughters of Salford Angela Ouattara and her team of trustees and volunteers are passionate about finding solutions in which women are disproportionately affected by poverty.
Angela said: “without practical donations and financial support through stewardship we would not be able to do what we do and are truly grateful.”
Angela added: The financial donations allow us to ensure safety equipment and basic guidance can be followed by parents despite significant financial hardship.”
In 2018 17,423 children living Salford were living in poverty.
Salford Baby Bank launched in March 2020 and aims to build a long-term relationship with the families and the community.
Since the launch, Salford Baby Bank has received many donations from the Salford community.
“We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of donations at such a difficult time.”
The charity has made key partnerships with The Life Centre and The Castle Community Centre in Eccles.
Angela said: “We have been introduced to many wonderful people who champion our work and support us to grow as we continue to work for the most vulnerable women and families in our community.”
