Marc Leach, Local lad and professional boxer, is preparing for one of his biggest fights to date which will take place in his hometown of Salford.

The event is set for Saturday 4th December at the AJ Bell stadium, home of the Salford Red Devils.

Marc “livewire” Leach began his boxing journey in his teens and has swiftly progressed through the ranks to get where he is today.

His swift reaction times and catchphrase, “hit and not be hit” was the inspiration behind his nickname “Livewire” and has made it his own.

His rise has been achieved through his hard work help from many big boxing names such as Carl Frampton and Jamie Moore.

In-between his busy training schedule, Marc coaches his son’s football teams, who both play for different age groups, but says: “I wouldn’t have it another way, being around the kids and helping them progress in their football.

“I told them I won’t make them better footballers but I will make them a lot fitter!”

The former English Bantamweight division champion is already looking beyond his next fight as an opportunity for him to get his hands on the world title.

“My end goal is to be world champion. My fight after this next one is for the British (title) so fingers crossed from then onwards I can get what I’ve been dreaming for.”

Details for the fight and ticket availability can be found on Marc’s Instagram account @leachy2901.
