According to Zoopla, Salford is ranked as fifth in the United Kingdom whereby properties are sold the fastest

In Salford, homes take an average of just 26 days on the market before they are sold.

The recent increase in fast sales followed the first covid-19 lockdown back in March.

These sales have been 50% bigger than this time last year.

This means there has been a total of 140,000 more buyers trying to buy before the stamp duty holiday deadline on 31st March 2021.

Salford isn’t the only place in the North West to make the top 20.

With Liverpool making 4th, Oldham 15th, Trafford 19th, and Manchester 20th.

The fastest-selling property type was three-bedroom semi-detached homes. These were the quickest to sell in 12 of the top 20 locations.

This was followed by two-bedroom terraced homes in five locations and then one-bedroom flats in two locations.

Tom Parker, Zoopla’s consumer spokesperson, said: “With a potential saving of up to £15,000, the rush from buyers to benefit from the stamp duty holiday is very much on.

“Of course there is still a significant amount of work to be done once a property is under offer, but properties being snapped up quickly by eager buyers is the first hurdle to leap if you want to make that saving.

“We’d urge buyers to act quickly and decisively in their hunt for a perfect property. Any delay can not only mean you miss out on your dream home but could hit you in the pocket too.”
