On Saturday 20th November, the Makers Markets returned to Media City with swarming stalls full of sweet treats, mulled wine, treasured keepsakes, and of course, a mobile bar full of prosecco, pints, and everything in-between.

During the pandemic, small businesses were hit incredibly hard, and restrictions meant that no markets showcasing products were able to open. Now, a year later over 1,000 traders are all finally reuniting to attend one of The Makers Market’s many events. The market’s stall prices start from £45 for Traders.

When speaking to a trader from the White Bean Coffee Co, they expressed that “it is vital” to attend events such as this, “because it was one of our main revenues [during the national lockdown]”.

“The rent on wholesale units and shops on the high-street is extortionate, so with this you get your product out there, and then you can build an online presence because you have your customers from the market”- she expressed just how important events like this are for getting small businesses recognized, and meeting other business owners too.”

Another trader detailed that “For me, it’s imperative as I wasn’t able to do quite a lot of markets as I was isolating; so now especially being Christmas it’s really important.”
