Salford people will be able to observe Remembrance Day tomorrow and Sunday at the following locations.

Eccles remembrance concert
On Friday November 11, a Remembrance Day concert will be held in Eccles at St Mary’s (Eccles Parish) church. The concert starts at 19:00, with doors opening at 18:00, refreshments will be available, and tickets cost a £5 donation. Many performers will be in attendance including the Honour choir, the Manchester Regiment 1914-18 Living History group and more.

The Hive, Victoria Park
On Friday November 11 from 10:45 – 12:00 a Remembrance Day memorial will be held at the hive in Victoria Park.

War memorial
At 10:30 on Friday November 11 the war memorial on Agecroft Road in Swinton will be holding their annual memorial in remembrance of the end of the first world war and the miners that died during it. A wreath will be placed in remembrance of those who died in the local Salford areas, officers and staff from Greater Manchester fire and rescue will also be in attendance.

Swinton Cenotaph
The service will commence at 10:45 on remembrance Sunday.

Salford Cenotaph
The service will commence at 10:35 on November 13, which will follow the remembrance parade.

Walkden Legion club
The Remembrance parade will commence at 09:30 at the legion club in Walkden.

Irlam Catholic Men’s Club
The parade will assemble at Irlam Catholic Club, Liverpool Road at 10.20am. The parade will make their way to the cenotaph at 10:40 and the service will commence at 10.45.

Little Hulton, St Paul’s Church
The Church Service will be held at The Cenotaph, St Paul’s Church, Peel Lane starting at 10.30am followed by wreath laying at the Cenotaph

St Paul’s Church Community Centre
The parade will assemble at Walkden British Legion, Wilfred Road, at 9.30am. Church service begin at St Paul’s CE, Manchester Road at 10am. The parade will reassemble outside the church at 10.30am and parade to the cenotaph at Parrfold Park, Walkden Road for wreath laying and two minutes silence.

Dutton Arms Eccles
RBL Poppy’s are out for anyone to grab and put donations in the pot. Poppy stickers are also put around the pub

Speedy Gonzales, Eccles
Any 9″ pizza at Speedy Gonzales Eccles is free for veterans, service and ex-service men and women from 16:00 to 19:00 (collection only).
