The Ammies will be looking to build on their recent Papa John’s Second Round victory and transfer this form into the league against Gillingham on Saturday.
Salford travel to Kent in the hopes they can rekindle their chances of getting in the play-offs after four league matches without a win.
The Ammies are ninth place in League Two, just three points off Swindon in the play-off places.
The match at Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium kicks off at 12:30 on Saturday and will be the first time the Ammies have faced the Gills in their history.
The Gills have had a torrid start to the season, they are in the relegation zone and have picked up just 14 points in 19 games. After being relegated last season Gillingham face the same feat again, if they don’t turn their form around. They come into the match off the back of a 1-1 draw against Dagenham & Redbridge in the Emirates FA Cup.
After the Ammies 1-0 win against Bradford City, boss Neil Wood came out and said: “I knew we were capable of putting in a winning performance so it was just a matter of time, we knew it was coming we could feel it was coming.”
Brighton loanee Lorent Tolaj scored his first goal for the Ammies in the Bradford match. He said: “I’m really happy to score my first goal to help the team to win the game. It’s been a long time when we didn’t win, and it’s really good for confidence.”
With immense pressure building on Neil Wood, a win at Gillingham would spark life back into his regime at the club.
