Irlam FC will be looking to return to winning ways in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division against Wythenshawe Town tonight.

They travel to Wythenshawe hoping to advance further up the league table after five league matches without a win.

They are midtable, sitting 15th on 25 points after 21 games.

The match at Wythenshawe Town’s Ericstan Park kicks off at 7.45pm tonight.

Their opponents currently sit top on 51 points but only because they have a better goal difference with 43. They come into the match off the back of a 1-0 win against Charnock Richard.

In their most recent game Irlam FC were defeated by Winsford United 2-0. The first goal was scored in the ninth minute and the second was in the 41st minute.  Defender Jacob Holt was sent off 15 minutes from time for Irlam.

After the game tonight Irlam do not have a fixture until the 17th when they host Prestwich Heys. It is the last break before a busy festive period which includes a home fixture on Boxing Day.

Last season when they faced each other Irlam won the first fixture in September and Wythenshawe won the other fixture.
