Box on the Docks art installation

Up-and-coming local artists have been featured in Box on the Dock’s collaboration with MIKESIAN studio.

The installation will run between January and March and aims to revitalise the art hall after the Christmas period.

Artists with work featured at the art hall include: Ahmed Mohammed, Joe O’Donnell, Fleur Yearsley, Alena Ruth, John Cake, Tara Collette and MIKESIAN studio.

Tara Collette has specialised in banner making over the last six years. In an Instagram post, Box on the Docks described her work as featuring “bold, provocative commentary on social issues”.

John Cake uses both digital and traditional techniques in their work, with Box on the Docks saying that “their work revels in the brutal absurdity of life in the North West”.

A range of food and drinks from The Tasty Greek, A Few Scoops Ice Cream and Seven Bro7hers will also be available for visitors to enjoy.

On top of that, the art hall will be home to some great events such as games socials (first Wednesday of every month 6-8pm), pop up painting (Friday 3rd of February 7-9.30pm) and dessert and beer pairings (Tuesday 14th and Saturday 18th of February).

Box on the Docks will showcase the artists each week on their social media at @boxonthedocks.
