Irlam FC will be hoping love is in the air for an away day as they aim to set hearts racing against Charnock Richard tonight.

They travel to Mossie Park for a mid-table clash at 19:45 in the North West Counties Premier Division.

They hope to rectify their stumbling run of just four points out of their last six games.

Coming off the back of a heavy 4-1 defeat to FC Isle of Man in their last game, manager John Main will be hoping his team can bounce back in this Valentine’s Day clash.

Irlam FC sit 14th in the Premier Division whilst Charnock Richard are placed 11th.

The match originally should’ve been played on the 17th of January but had to be postponed until today.

The home team come into the game with slightly better form, winning three of their last six games.

Both sides however have had to quickly regroup after they both came out on the losing side with Charnock losing 1-2 away to Longridge Town.

John J A Main will be hoping to add to his tally of 10 goals in 24 games for the away side tonight as they could leapfrog Charnock Richard with a win if other results go their way.

The manager will also be wary of the next game that comes against Burscough just 4 days later on Saturday.

Last season’s fixture saw the home side run out 2-1 visitors, with second half goals cancelling out Ethan Cartwright’s opener.

The hosts, which are based just outside of Chorley have an average attendance of 165 this season.
