Salford City has their last chance at recording a win for September tomorrow.

The visit of South-Wales side Newport County will be Salford City’s seventh game this month, they are yet to win a single game since August.

The Ammies are currently out of the relegation zone on goal-difference alone as they sit on seven points from nine games.

Neil Wood’s side have not kept a clean sheet in any competition since their opening day win over Forest Green Rovers. They have the third worst goal difference in the division.

Similarly, Newport County are also winless in the month of September, and come in to the game off the back of a 4-1 thumping by Bradford City and are without a win in their last four.

Although Newport’s Will Evans has been in fine form so far this season, netting seven goals in nine league games. There will also be a return to Moor Lane for Shane Mclaughlin who featured for Salford in the second half of last season.

Another loss for Salford tomorrow would see further pressure heaped on Head Coach, Neil Wood. A loss, or even failure to win tomorrow could well see the home side slump in to the relegation zone.

After the Ammies loss to Burnley in midweek, Neil Wood said: “Well I think we just have to focus on the weekend that’s the important thing.”

Salford have had a tough time recently, with injuries ripping through their starting XI. At current, Osama Ashley, Callum Hendry and Theo Vassell are all out injured to name but a few. However they will take solace from the fact that Newport County are yet to beat Salford in the league.

Salford City’s game against Newport County will kick off at 3pm on Saturday September 30.
