Salford Red Devils have announced that they have signed Deon Cross on a two year deal with the option to extend by a year.

The 27-year-old has been a great addition to the side since joining the club from Widnes Vikings in 2022.

And with Cross developing in the centre under the guidance of Paul Rowley, there is no surprise that he has been signed so quickly.

He was able to prove his worth in 2023 scoring five tries adding to his already impressive 2022 performance, where he was able to score 14 tries in 29 games.

He even earned a call-up to England Knights squad, making his debut in a 28-4 victory against Scotland.

Once released as a junior by St. Helens, Cross was able to develop as a talent through playing for Rochdale Hornets, Barrow Raiders and Widnes Vikings.

After an incredible journey to reach and get a contract extension, the 27-year-old spoke positively about the extension: “The club have given me this opportunity and I want to repay them with my performances and help achieve the goals that we have set as a team!”

He also went on to speak about the teams mentality: “Everyone works hard together; everyone’s got the same vision, the same goals and there’s no egos.”

Further adding on the relationship that exists within the dressing room: “No-one’s below anyone, everyone is on the same level and we’ve got a great group of lads.

“I think because we’ve got one of the smallest squads in Super League, we’ve just got a great group of lads here.”

With Deon signed for the next season, it should be another exciting season to be supporting the Red Devils.
