Salford Quays bar and restaurants should expect an influx of Galatasaray fans tonight ahead of the Champions League tie.

An estimated 3,000 away fans pouring through the Quays tonight, there are minor preparations being made ahead of the fixture.

Manchester United host Galatasaray tonight in the Champions League, it will be a hotly anticipated second fixture.

With the Turkish club have been known for their intimidating but loyal reputation to their team.

People looking towards the Quays can expect to see an out pour of yellow and red going up the canal.

One bar in Media City Lime Bar, known for hosting away fans are preparing for the arrival of the away fans.

With the bar taking the measure to have extra staff and security at the door.

One staff member Randel Rigby, 30, spoke on the anticipated meeting: “We are treating it like every other away game. Police will do their rounds but we don’t anticipate any trouble.”

The level of concern seems to be quite low with the Greater Manchester Police, saying: “We have extra officers this evening but this is not out of the ordinary as we tend to do this for high-profile matches.”

Nonetheless, a lot more focus will be directed to the pitch with a many of the away fans excited about the a potential win at Old Trafford.

Turkish sports journalist Caner Isbegendiren, spoke ahead of the excitement of the fixture: “A little nervous, a little excited and hopeful. That’s how the fans feel today.”

With Galatasaray well known for their home atmosphere, there will be certainly be a unique feeling at Old Trafford tonight.

As Caner was happy to add: “Everything can change in the Champions League atmosphere.”

And although there may be an assumed level of risk due to their intimidating reputation, Caner went on to add: “I think it is unlikely that there will be tension, I think it depends a little bit on the outcome of the match.”
