Salford City Stockport

The Ammies have drawn a strong Peterborough United team in what will be a challenging first round of the FA Cup.

Salford City who are currently 15th place in League Two will travel south to the Weston Homes Stadium where they will face their high flying League One opposition.

This is the second time in a row that Salford have drawn Peterborough Town in the FA Cup first round after drawing them last year.

After a strong performance away from home Salford managed a 0-0 draw forcing a replay.

However in the game at the Peninsula Stadium they were thrashed 3-0 so Salford will be wanting to avenge themselves.

Salford have had a underwhelming start to League Two so far after just missing out on play-offs by one point last season.

Neil Wood’s side have lost the majority of their games so far this season but recently their form has improved with them winning three games in their last five.

However, they will be trying to improve on their last time out after conceding two late goals against Wrexham denying them an away win.

On the other hand Peterborough have had a strong start the season and currently sit fourth on the League One table.

The Posh are currently unbeaten in their last six games so this will be a difficult challenge for Salford.

Salford will be trying to match the furthest they have got in the FA Cup by getting the second round where they lost to Hartlepool in 2015.

The game will take place between the third and the sixth of November. Tickets have not gone on sale yet.
