Salford City U-18s will host Accrington Stanley’s U-18s tomorrow in the first round of the FA Youth Cup.

The match that will take place at the Peninsula stadium will see U-18s head coach Gary Sampson try and overturn an Accrington Stanley side that did very well last year.

The ‘Owd Reds U-18s managed to reach the third round after beating Hartlepool and Bolton, only faltering to Leeds in the third.

On the other hand the young Ammies will be looking to go better than last year’s second round exit, after getting a walkover in the first round against Barrow who pulled out.

The FA Youth Cup is a prestigious competition amongst England’s youth teams, being disputed by 622 teams in the 2022/23 season.

Whilst the competition is dominated by the academy sides of professional clubs, a large number of entrants also came from semi-pro and amateur clubs.

Last year it was West Ham United who came on top of the pile, beating Arsenal 5-1 in the final to lift the trophy.

Fans can pick up a £5 ticket for Adults (18 and over) and Under-18s can get admission for only £1, purchased from the on site turnstile.

Only the North Stand will be open, so supporters should use Turnstile block C on Moor Lane which opens at 6pm.

Kick off is at 7pm.
