ITV is making a one-off TV Christmas special and is asking people from the Salford area to attend for free.

The show named “Britain Get Singing” will see celebrity choirs compete against each other whilst performing in front of a panel of four celebrity judges.

The show is in support of ITV’s “Britain Get Talking” campaign. They aim to create awareness of the recent decline in mental health across the UK.

Their mission is to “help ease our stress and reduce our anxiety by asking what’s on our minds”. According to an NHS survey: “Mental health has declined in almost 40 per cent of school children.”

The show’s first and only episode to date took place last year on Christmas Eve.

Jason Manford, a Salford comedian, was one of the celebrities in attendance in the pilot episode.

A few famous faces from the Emmerdale and Coronation Street cast also feature on the show.

The show is hosted by Roman Kemp, a TV and radio presenter who recently lost a close friend of his by suicide.

The recording will take place on December 3 at Dock 10 studios in MediaCity, Salford.

Dock 10 studios is the home for many other TVs shows which people can attend, such as Countdown and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
