Castleford Tigers comfortably beat the Red Devils 36-24 to win their first game of 2024.

An exciting match saw the Tigers lead at the break with tries from Senior and Sam Hall, whilst Salford replied with tries from their own Ryan Brierley and Tim Lafai.

Senior’s display saw him net 4 tries for Castleford in a reassuring performance.

Exciting footwork and classic wing-play saw him earn player of the match.

Two tries from Brierley and four goals from Sneyd were not enough for The Red Devils as they succumbed to defeat at Wheldon Road.

For Salford, this was a missed opportunity to put themselves level with the top five sides.

When they played well- they looked devastating but ultimately came away with nothing to show for their efforts.

Salford boss, Paul Rowley told the BBC: “We got what we deserved. It’s a new experience coming here as favorites. The disappointment is from our performance.

“They were very enthusiastic and very good and deserved the win. Our performance was way off.”

After a disappointing evening at The Jungle, The Devils travel to the Cherry Red Record Stadium to face The London Broncos on April 20.

The Reds will aim to rectify their mistakes and show again their power and presence in the league.
