A Swinton based organisation is hosting a free dementia remembrance event this May for those who have lost their loved ones.
The memorial will be hosted by the Salford non-profit organisation, Aspire, on May 14 and will mark dementia week (May 13-19).
The event at RHS Gardens Bridgewater will also give people a chance to remember their loved ones who are currently living with dementia.
A spokesperson from Aspire, said: “This is a really important week in the Dementia calendar, and having hosted this event twice previously now we know how much of an impact it can have on people as they come together to remember and reflect.
“We would love to be able to raise further awareness of the event and hope you may be able to assist with this in some way.”
From 11am, guests are invited to join in for a Forget Me Not seed planting activity in the Wellbeing Garden at RHS, before a short service commences to celebrate the lives of those who have been lost.
The Forget Me Not flower is a symbol of remembrance and is often associated with Dementia, blooming year after year to give a gentle reminder of those no longer with us.
Guests from Aspire, Reverend Karen Owen and carers will recite reflective readings, before a two-minute silence. Visitors will then be able to enjoy the rest of the gardens and facilities for free.
The venue is fully accessible and is open to anyone who would like to attend.
