Salford City FC have announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a pivotal moment in the clubs journey.

The Ammies have announced that Gavin Fleig will hold the position which will in effect from Wednesday 1 October 2025.

The appointment has been stated by the club as ” bringing a bold vision and proven leadership that will propel Salford City to new heights on and off the pitch.”

The appointment also marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the Club and has been looked on as a clear signal from the new ownership to bring the very best for Salford City.

The new CEO, Gavin Fleig will be responsible for leading the strategic, operational and commercial direction of the Club, with a clear focus on delivering competitive football success.

He will also be responsible for driving promotion up the ranks of English football and establishing sustainable commercialisation models for future growth.

His selection came following an extensive interview process with Club co-chairs and ownership group members, differentiating himself through his long-term vision for Salford City.

On his appointment, Gavin said: “I couldn’t be more excited to join Salford City FC at such an important moment.

“This Club is entering a new chapter with clear determination and huge untapped potential.

“We want to build a Club that competes fearlessly, first and foremost on the pitch, and extending throughout our business and community efforts to grow in the right way, with our dedicated fanbase at the heart of everything we do,” he continued.

Gavin Fleig will join Salford City as CEO from 1st October 2025.

He arrives at the Club from City Football Group at a pivotal moment in our journey, bringing a bold vision and proven leadership that will propel Salford City to new heights on and off the pitch.

Gavin will arrive at the club with a wealth of experience, serving two decades across talent strategy, multi-club operations and long-term football planning at the highest levels of the game.

He always was involved at the highest levels, working at City Football Group, overseeing talent management and development across their global network of football teams.

Co-owner Gary Neville said: “Gavin is exactly the kind of leader we’ve been looking for – strategic, passionate, and forward-thinking. His belief in the Club’s potential is only matched by his determination to make things happen.

And having lived in Greater Manchester for 17 years, while operating his work across five continents – he will be looking to combine his local knowledge with a global perspective.

The appointment will look to bring a new era to Salford City and create an environment where the club will look to thrive on and off the pitch.
