Kadeem Harris joins Salford City

Former Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday winger Kadeem Harris has signed to Salford City on a one-year deal.

The Ammies have signed the 32-year-old following a one-year spell at Carlisle United, where he made 30 appearances last season.

The third transfer of the week, after goalkeepers Matty Young and Mark Howard, will see Harris move away from Brunton Park to promotion-seeking Salford City.

Before his move to Carlisle, Harris spent a few seasons playing abroad, including in Turkey’s second tier where he won promotion with Samsunspor in 2023.

The new winger originally began his playing career at Wycombe Wanderers, making his first-team debut at the age of 16.

At Cardiff he made 79 appearances, including 13 matches played in the Premier League following their promotion to the topflight in 2018.

This top-level experience will be exactly what the Ammies will be looking for as they aim to get promoted to League One next season.

The winger then went on to have two seasons at Sheffield Wednesday, where he made 88 appearances for the South Yorkshire club whilst in the Championship.

And with his experience, he will be looking to bolster Salford’s chance of promotion and help the club rise through the football pyramid.

As he shared his excitement after joining the Ammies this week, as Kadeem said: “I am happy to be here, excited to get going, and I cannot wait to get started.

“This is an exciting club on the up, I know the Club has tried to get promoted the last few years and haven’t been successful unfortunately, but I believe this year could be the year and will be the year.”

He continued: “I played against the team last season, quite a few of the same players are still here, and Salford have always been a club which has excited me.

“They’re very good going forward, and I want to be a part of that, and part of a promotion, and I think we can do that this year.”
