Local band The Fairway are gearing up for a sold-out headline show in December at The Eagle Inn in Salford.

As they prepare for their “biggest gig yet,” the band is set to release their fourth single, ‘Remember Those Nights,’ next week.

Frontman Chris Eaves described their sound as similar to other classic Northern Indie bands.

He said: “We’re a bit of everything; Oasis, Catfish and the Bottlemen and newer artists like The K’s, prevalent in their releases thus far, with debut single ‘My Dirty Old Town’ reminiscent of Oasis’ blockbuster 1997 track ‘D’You Know What I Mean?’

“Everyone wants to be like Oasis, and if they say they’re not, they’re lying.”

He explained the single “came to us pretty quick” during their writing process.

The track is driven by their influences, edging towards that newer indie rock sound pioneered by bands such as The K’s, with tracks such as Dacton and Wanderella’ and ‘Gravestone’ being clear sonic inspirations, and drawing on Manchester and Salford’s phenomenal creative history.

‘Remember Those Nights’ is set to release on November 28th, a fortnight out from the band’s second headline show to close 2025 on December 13th, in Salford, at The Eagle Inn.

Building on the band’s already impressive workload and a new yet nostalgic indie sound, The Fairway are set to release their first EP.

According to Eaves, it will be released next year, containing all their singles. “We want to continue to graft and make more music.”

The Fairway will take centre stage at the Eagle Inn next month, as they look to refine their sound and etch themselves into the world-famous northern indie music scene.
