A festive hat-trick of activities is part of a packed season of events at an Eccles pub.
St Michael’s Pub and Function Room on Liverpool Road will put on arts and crafts nights, quizzes and Christmas-themed parties this December.

The festivities began at the pub on Saturday November 29, with several stalls selling local goods and homemade items, a craft table for the kids, cakes and hot drinks, and a Santa meet and greet set up in the pub.
Kimberley Howarth, a staff member at St Michael’s Pub, said the activities would be “magic” for the kids.
She said the decision to host pop-up stalls from local businesses made the pub like Manchester Christmas Markets, but more affordable and right on your doorstep.
Manager Anita Jackson explained that the pub used to be a social club and is still holding onto its communal feeling by offering consistent help to those in need and hosting weekly events.
These events are open to everyone and consist of a Veterans Breakfast on Mondays, becoming a place of welcome on Tuesdays, Morris dancing on Wednesdays and a free soup and lunch club on Friday afternoons.
Anita, who was introduced to the pub through the veterans breakfast and has been manager for the last three years, says that “any profits made eventually go back to the church and into community events” as the pub is owned by the church and the two wish to pay back to the community.

“If anyone needs any help with anything, emergencies etcetera, we do have the connection with the church so we can get that for people,” Anita said.
