A play, a free Christmas lunch, markets and carols are all part of a busy December line-up for a Salford church.
Victory Outreach in Liverpool Road is hosting a packed schedule of free events and helping to combat loneliness.
An original Christmas play, When Heaven Hits Our Streets, described as a drama comedy is new this year. The play is an original production with live musical performances, and modern scenes to remind the audience of what the Christmas season is truly about.
Church member Foluso Falade said: “It’s meant to be a modern variation of Jesus and his journey, but in a modern, 21st century Mancunian way. It’s really exciting.”

The play, with an associated market, on December 19 and 20, is free to attend but tickets need to be booked.
December 21 brings the annual Christmas carol service, which will also be free to attend for all members of the community.
Foluso said: “Everything is completely free. As much as possible we just love to be there as a community.”
On Christmas day, a free community Christmas dinner will be hosted inside the church building.

“We just basically come eat and just be around people because we know that Christmas can be the loneliest time of the year, which is completely contradictory to what we believe it should be,” Foluso said.
At the end of the month the church will also be hosting a New Years Eve party, with a 1920s theme.
“Last year it was the 80s I believe, and this year it’s 1920s with everyone dressed up. Its always such a vibe, We pray and we sing and dance.”
More information can be found at the Victory Outreach Manchester website, where tickets can be booked for the Christmas play and community dinner.
