An 87-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Salford.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a pedestrian on Great Cheetham Street at around 5.45pm on Saturday January 24.
The elderly man was struck by the car while crossing the road.
The victim was taken to hospital to undergo treatment, but did not survive.
The driver remained at the scene and is continuing to assist police with their investigation in to the collision.
No arrests have been made and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Officers from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit have issued an appeal for information about the collision on the busy Salford street.
They are keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV footage, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
