An independent street food and events organisation has set up shop at a new location in Salford.
Grub, one of Greater Manchester’s leading street food and events groups, is nearing the end of its three-week residency in Media City, selling festive comfort food and winter drinks, and hopes to return for more events in 2026.
The food seller, which will be part of Grub on the Docks until December 13, is set to sign off in style with an apres ski party event.
Organisers say the festive send-off will include DJ sets and live entertainment in the container booths. The bar is set to feature a dedicated fizz bar and a stout tap takeover.
Grub is continuing to rotate its menu and is serving a selection of seasonal drinks.
It says this spell in Salford marks the beginning of a long-term partnership with Media City and hopes to bring more experiences to the waterfront.
Senior events manager at Media City Joshua McAllister said: “Partnering with Grub for the Grub On The Docks: Christmas Takeover is an exciting step as we continue to evolve the experiences on offer at MediaCity.
“We are confident Grub will bring a warm and enjoyable addition for everyone to discover this winter.”
Selling mainly late breakfasts and lunches, Grub offers a range of warm food. It only takes card payments, not cash. But there is no minimum spend when paying by card.
Ruby Baines, who operates the food stand on alternate days at on Grub on the Docks, said: “Coming to Media City has been good. There is definitely an appetite for this kind of easy food here.
“We tried to work from 7am to 12pm but there wasn’t much action. So we are now open from 12pm to 6pm Thursday through Sunday.”
