A new dance production inspired by the landscape and culture of rural Ireland is set to feature at The Lowry Theatre in 2026.

The Salford-based theatre will present choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan’s show ‘Mám’ as part of production company Teaċ Daṁsa’s UK tour with performances on the 3 and 4 February 2026.

Dance Consortium, a group of large venues which are committed to showcasing the best in contemporary dance, will be touring a company from Ireland for the first time in this run.

The show was conceived by Keegan-Dolan after moving his production company to West Kerry in 2019, and is inspired by native language, history, landscape and musical traditions.

The magical and mythological spectacle is guided by 11 dancers and 16 traditional West Kerry folk songs, with one young girl as the still point. The soundscape was produced in a studio gathering spanning over 10 weeks in 2019.

The show was nominated for an Olivier award when it premiered in 2020 at Sadler’s Wells.

Michael Keegan-Dolan is known for his rise to fame with the Fabulous Beast Dance theatre, previous to creating the Teaċ Daṁsa group, which translates to ‘house of dance’ in Irish.

The trailer for the production can be viewed here and tickets can be purchased via the Lowry theatre.
