Salford City will kick off their 2026/27 League Two season, and the Peter Cklamovski era, with an away game against Barnet on Saturday 15 August, before welcoming Chesterfield to the Peninsula Stadium.
The Ammies game against the Spireites on 15 August is an early meeting between the two sides, knocked out by promotion-winning Notts County in the play-offs last season and could indicate how the Ammies will shape up against the division’s stronger sides.
Salford City will begin September with a home meeting against newly relegated Port Vale on Saturday 5, before new signing Joe Powell comes up against his former club Rotherham United the following week.
The Ammies will then make the short trip across Greater Manchester to face local rivals Oldham Athletic in their final fixture of the month.
Their festive schedule has also thrown up a repeat of last season’s play-off semi-final, with Grimsby Town travelling to the Peninsula Stadium on Boxing Day.
Salford will then take on both of the National League’s promoted sides in back-to-back matches, visiting Rochdale on 29 December before travelling to York City on New Year’s Day.
New manager Cklamovski has made an encouraging start to his summer rebuild, bringing in midfielder Joe Powell and Wigan Athletic defender Will Aimson after replacing Karl Robinson.
It remains too early to assess the strength of his squad, but Salford’s hierarchy will expect the new boss to mount a serious promotion challenge this season.
Cklamovski will hope his side have secured a place in League One before their final match of the campaign, when Tranmere Rovers visit the Peninsula Stadium on 8 May 2027.
