Next of kin

Police are appealing for information after the death of a 61-year-old man in Salford.

Brian Anthony Batty passed away at his home on Monks Court on 18 August.

Greater Manchester Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

Officers have asked for help to trace his next of kin.

In a statement posted on social media, a GMP spokesperson said: “Do you know the next of kin of a man from Salford?

“Brian Anthony Batty, 61, sadly died at his address on Monks Court, Canterbury Gardens, on 18/08/2026.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

“Anyone with information of Brian’s next of kin should contact the Police Coroner’s Office on 0161 856 4687.”

Police often issue appeals like this to help trace the relatives of people who have died across the region before a cause of death is established.

Once officers have gathered the necessary details, the information is passed to the coroner’s office so a full cause of death can be determined.
