September has been a successful month for Peter Cklamovski and Salford City compared to the opening month of the season.

With an unbeaten run of five matches in the league which included four wins- propelling the Ammies into a playoff position in League Two.

City had lost all three league games in the month of August, so Kelly N’Mai’s stoppage time winner against Newport County game was a huge relief on home turf.

The first three points in the 2-1 victory was after defender Taylor Allen, equalized seven minutes from time.

That win was shortly followed up with a 1-0 narrow win over Port Vale, with new signing, Joe Powell’s low strike trickling into the back of the net with help of some poor goalkeeping from the Vale Keeper.

This lead to two wins on the bounce for the first time under Cklamovski.

Salford City took the lead in the opening 10 minutes in their game against Rotherham United after superb improvisation from Ryan Graydon.

Powell then doubled the lead with a spectacular effort from distance to score his second goal in as many games. Rotherham responded well and turned the game completely on its head on the hour mark to lead 3-2, before Macauley Langstaff equalised from the penalty spot late on to earn a well deserved draw.

The Ammies then went on to win their third home game in a row at the AIG stadium, with another Joe Powell wonder strike and a very good defensive display, limiting the visitors to very few chances- a big step up at the back compared to the Rotherham game one week prior.

After the much changed side lost 1-2 in midweek to Sheffield Wednesday in the division above, Salford City continued their superb league from with a 1-4 demolition away at local rivals, Oldham Athletic.

Goals from N’Mai, Bredan Wiredu, Luke Molyneux and Ade Oluwo resulted in them moving to 7th in the table, just two points of league leaders Barnet.

The Ammies are back in action this weekend as Fleetwood Town visit the AIG stadium on Saturday October 3, with kick-off at 3PM.
