Worsley college students’ restaurant, The Glasshouse has been awarded a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2026, placing it among the top 10% of listings on TripAdvisor.
The restaurant primarily ran by Hospitality and Culinary Arts students has been awarded a prestigious TripAdvisor award for the third year in a row. With bookings being filled within 23 minutes, the restaurant allows students to practice their hospitality skills and work to professional industry standards.
Students remain at a high standard with help from staff members who are industry professionals with many years of valuable experience.
Visitors of the restaurant are keen to dine in, as The Glasshouse consistently receiving strong reviews and positive feedback from customers.
Mike Barnett, a previous diner at the restaurant, said: “I challenge you to find anywhere serving food of this quality, at these prices, with a student staffing.”
Simon D, another visitor, said: “We’ve dined here a few times and it’s an exceptional experience and I can say it’s the best one I’ve ever had locally. It’s an amazing place.”
Despite operating around the college timetable, with fewer service days than a traditional commercial restaurant and closures during academic holidays, the Glasshouse has built up a loyal following.
Amy Vaughan, Principal at Worsley College, said: “To receive the Travellers’ Choice Award once is fantastic, but to achieve it three years in a row is something we’re incredibly proud of.
“This award isn’t just recognition of the food and service. It reflects the whole learning environment we have created and shows what can be achieved when education and genuine industry experience come together.”
