A monumental ‘living portrait’ is coming to Peel Park in Salford this weekend.
The world premiere of Salford Everywhere is fast approaching and the final preparations are well underway for the monumental ‘living portrait’ to be played in one of Salford’s most recognisable locations.
Here’s a few things you should know before you visit.
On Friday October 9 and Saturday October 10 Salford residents are invited to watch the visual art in Peel Park. The University of Salford’s Maxwell Building will be the giant backdrop for this very special film about Salford and its people.
The outstanding work has been created by award-winning visual artist and filmmaker, Matthew Rosier.
The event is part of Salford Everywhere: A City Gathering major free festival of Salford and its people.
Across this upcoming weekend, there will be more than 1,500 Salfordians projected onto buildings across the City.
At the tranquil Peel Park, a 45-minute film will be projected onto the Maxwell Building. However why not make an evening of the occasion.
From 6-10pm there will be food and soft drinks available along with local outstanding talent creating a soundtrack of the evening.
Residents will be able to enjoy live music from Eccles Borough Band and Pendleton Sixth Form Choir, spoken word from poet, Lynn Walton, a DJ soundtrack and the voice and poetry of Rob Dunford.
An accessible viewing platform will be available for anyone with access needs. The platform has step-free access, wheelchair spaces and chairs. A BSL interpreter will also be viewable from the accessible viewing platform.
To guarantee a space on the platform please email access@fromtheother.com
