WOULD-BE entrepreneurs flocked to Salford’s MediaCity yesterday for advice on setting up creative companies.

The event was hosted to celebrate and break new ground in the creative and digital economy. Forty expert speakers from around the globe covered subjects such as: Creative & Digital, Health and Wellbeing, Engineering and Environment and Sport for Salford University students.

Social media use was prevalent via Creative Entrepreneur  tweets and Salford University’s business account. Sessions were streamed live and recorded.

The event continued throughout the day with four rooms full of speaking, workshops and pitches.

The event allowed students to experience Media City features such as cutting edge technology, multi-touch tables, Christie Tile walls and a digital performance lab.

The event culminated in a Tech Angels – Dragons Den provided by Web Apps UK.

The Dragon’s Den-style pitch event offered prize money and potential access to £2,000 per month, premises and business support.

Creative Entrepreneur Next Generation hopes to  host another event at Media City soon.
