Swinton Lions have officially revealed their home and away kits ahead of their 2019 BetFred Championship season, paying tribute to their past colours.

The two new designs were exclusively revealed at the 2019 Swinton Lions’ kit launch at Heywood Road earlier this week.

Local Manchester Company SuPro, who were behind the design of the kits, created designs inspired by the Lions’ former shirts.

The Lions’ originally sported a plain navy-blue before making the switch to a royal-blue jersey in the 1960’s.

While a royal-blue jersey is the colour most will associate with Stuart Littler’s side, the new jersey combines a balanced flavour of the two to create a refreshed look at Heywood Road.

The new kits

Andy Mazey, Chairman of Swinton Lions said:

“This is a quite unique approach if we’re honest, it’s resulted in a magnificent kit from our point of view. It’s allowed us to combine the two shades of our colours from the past

“It’s not just allowing us to pay homage to our past but it’s also showcasing our ambition for the future and that we are entering into an innovative new era.”

The Championship side will take to the fields with a black alternative kit away from home next season.

The kit is dominated with a strong silver Lion on the kit in order to motivate the players when they take to the field.

Operations Director Steve Wild said, “Over the years we have had a rich history, we’ve been a successful club so we wanted to pay homage to that, but the message we wanted to send out was that while we respect the past, we are a forward looking club going into an exciting new era.”

Swinton Lions’ home and away kits are available to pre-order via the Swinton Lions store here.
