A Salford businessman who was gunned down in Spain has been found to have connections with gangs.

Peter Andrew Williamson, 39, was killed last Thursday after being shot five times outside his villa in Fuengirola on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

It is alleged the incident involved a drive by shooting in which his killer opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Tributes poured in for the Salford expat across social media with people stating ‘another Salford boy gone too soon’.

Mr Williamson, originally from Kersal, moved to Spain from Salford earlier this year.

His friends in Salford said that Mr Williamson ‘obviously come into money’ after he moved, as his appearance changed and he started sporting expensive watches and designer clothing.

However, it has been revealed by the Manchester Evening News that Mr Williamson had gang connections.
