Ridge Holland, former Salford Red Devil Luke Menzies, looks to set to be in NXT UK title picture after yet another dominating victory this past Thursday.

The 31-year-old from Liversedge, standing 6-foot and weighing 260 pounds, has so far delivered on his promise to bring some “Yorkshire grit” to the ring and remains one of a handful of stars currently undefeated on the brand.

Holland entered the ring in his distinguished flat-cap before making short work of London-born Saxon Huxley. Huxley came quick out the blocks trapping Holland in the corner with a clotheslines, but a capture suplex from Ridge turned the match around on its head. The Ogdens chanted about Ridge being built a fridge, before a beautiful Alabama slam allowed Ridge to claim the win.

After the match, Holland simply tweeted: “4 steps to causing bother…”

Holland began his wrestling training under former English professional wrestlers Marty Jones and Johnny Moss while still playing at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Holland would make his debut on the UK independent scene before displaying the of a world champion at a WWE tryout in Scotland.

He also spent last Summer training undefeated heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury for a high-profile match against Braun Strowman at WWE Crown Jewel.

Holland made an impressive debut last November defeating Oliver Carter before a high-profile victory over Tyson T-Bone last month.

Holland is not the first Red Devil to swap the AJ Bell Stadium for the Cambridge Corn Exchange.

Former Samoan international Daniel Vidot signed a developmental contract with WWE back in 2018. Could he be looking to challenge his former Salford teammate on Thursday nights?

There is no doubt that Holland will put NXT United Kingdom Champion Walter and the rest of the NXT UK lockeroom on notice with more commanding victories like these.

You can catch Holland and all of your favourite NXT UK superstars every Thursday night on the WWE Network.
