A Salford artist will take part in an ‘art battle’ that will see 10 artists create a masterpiece in 30 minutes, to raise money for mental health charity Mind.
The second virtual Manchester Art Battle will take place this weekend in aid of World Mental Health Day to raise money for the Mind charity.
The Art Battle will take place on Sunday 11 October from 8pm-10.30pm through United We Stream. Artists have 30 minutes to create their work, whilst thousands from across the world can watch a live stream.
Emma said: “I’m a little nervous! I haven’t decided what I am going to paint, there is no theme so we can create anything we like. I will defiantly be using my signature bright colours and creating something positive.
“There are some huge artists and bands taking part, so it will be a huge privilege to work alongside them.”
DJs The Soul Twins, will play live during the battle, creating an authentic Art Battle experience for the virtual event.
The public will vote on social media for their favourite creations, sending the two most voted for artists through to the final, and all the artwork will be auctioned off to raise money for Mind Charity and Help Musicians Charity.
Mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham said: “This is a really special and unique event as part of UnitedWeStreamGM 8 artists battle in competition from their own houses while The Soul Twins give us an amazing soundtrack and Hattie Pearson MCs.
“Get dancing. Stay home. And help the causes!”
