Police are appealing for help to find a man who sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl yesterday in the Lower Broughton area of Salford.

The girl fell victim to a horrific ordeal” whilst making her way to school when she was sexually assaulted and robbed in Peel Park in broad daylight.

Police said the attack took place between 8.15am and 8.30am and are asking for anyone who has any information on the attack to come forward.

Detective Inspector Chris Horsfield, of GMP’s Swinton CID, said: “This is a deeply concerning incident where a young girl has been randomly approached in broad daylight and subjected the victim to a horrific ordeal by an unknown man clearly with sinister intentions.”

The male is said to be between 20 and 30 with short ginger/blonde lightly coloured hair with a cropped fringe, a faint moustache, and is around 6ft tall with a skinny build.
