Mind in Salford are set to host five free online sessions over the festive period to support people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Mind in Salford (MiS) is an independent charity focused on providing wellbeing and mental health services for the people of Salford.

Throughout December and January, MiS is providing free mindfulness sessions for those who struggle over the festive period.

A Spokesperson for Mind in Salford said: “The drop-in sessions are designed to support your mental health and wellbeing over what can be a difficult period for many…for a variety of reasons.”

Each session offers different ways to practice mindfulness for one hour whether it be through meditation or finding ways to relax, there is something for everyone.

The first session is called “Winter Solstice” and takes place on Wednesday 21st December from 11:00am to 12:00pm via Zoom.

They continued: “As we approach winter, we can start to feel anticipation of the darker days ahead, the lack of sunlight and the cold”.

This first session will offer meditation and reflection to support people through the transition into winter.

Other sessions invite people to pause for some “me time”, find ways to let go of everyday stresses and be kind to ourselves through “mindful enquiry”.

The other sessions take place on the 23rd and 29th, from 18:00 to 19:00, and 27th of December from 11:00am to 12:00pm.

They will also host one session in the new year called “New year, new start” from 11:00am to 12:00pm to help people find a fresh start.

More information on each session, as well as how to join each Zoom session, can be found on the Mind in Salford website.
