An elderly couple have gone viral after dancing at Walkden Community Christmas Party in the middle of the Town Centre.
Linda, 72, and Graham Fish, 79, spent their Sunday afternoon spreading smiles as they danced to a rendition of ‘White Christmas’, at the Walkden Community Christmas party.
Linda said: “It was a lovely atmosphere. There was lots going on, there was music, lots of Christmas songs which we love. We just heard ‘White Christmas’ come on and we happened to be stood near each other and we just said, c’mon let’s do it.”
“Everyone was smiling at us.”
Linda has always been a passionate dancer, a passion she shares with her husband of 42 years. Whilst the couple have only ever taken one dance class together, they find comfort in coming up with dances like their famous Waltz.
They said they “can’t help but get up and dance” when their favourite song begins to play: Louis Armstrong’s, ‘What A Wonderful World’.
Their dance in Walkden’s town centre has gone viral on community Facebook groups. The video is currently at 4500 views on Walkden’s Community Facebook page.
The couple were told about the reactions they were getting online by their daughter, Gemma.
Linda said: “We were really surprised about it, but it’s nice to make people smile.”
The pair hope to continue dancing together forever.
