Salford-born Tommy Fury defeated KSI in a crossover boxing match that was filled with action and controversy.
It was first believed that the scorecards were incorrect after an image was released on social media showing judge Rafael James failed to add up his scores correctly.
This was subsequently rectified, with all three scores 57-56 in Fury’s favour, securing the win by unanimous decision.
Each round was no different from the other, with excessive clinching, despite multiple warnings from referee Mark Calo-oy. The bout was a dreary one with very little moments that marked a round.
KSI was left furious after the fight, believing he had been “robbed.” He extended his anger by going on to say: “Obviously he’s a pro boxer; if I won it’s a mockery for the sport.”
Fury landed 12 jabs and 39 connecting punches to the YouTuber’s 38.
Fury has also been called out for his unprofessionalism, as it was noted that he hit KSI on the back of the head three times.
A rematch is not out of the question as Fury states he is done with the “cross-over boxing” but proceeded to call out both the Paul brothers, Logan and Jake.
Logan Paul also featured on the Misfits card on Saturday, defeating MMA fighter Dillon Danis.
Danis was disqualified after six rounds as he tried to bring the fight to an end, attempting a double-leg takedown and guillotine.
John Fury knows his son could have done better, but also comments on KSI’s fighting style.
John said: “I’m used to seeing two men stand up and box properly. But when another man’s from another background completely to what we’re doing, it’s hard to replicate in sparring.”
“He was holding him constantly and he couldn’t get his arms out, he was smothering his work, it was horrible to watch.”
Fury is now 10-0 after this win, but the victory did very little to impress boxing fans.
