The Kargo MKT is a food hall that recently opened during the early weeks of September in Central Bay, Salford Quays. After a £3.5 million revamp, the food hall is now complete and in full flow.

All 20 of its food venders have opened and after brining in new management in the past few weeks, everything is apparently going smoothly.

This area is now a place for people to come and enjoy food from all different cultures, refreshing drinks and so much more any time or day of the week. You can enjoy this inside the building or on their 2000 square foot outdoor terrace to experience some alfresco drinking and dining.

In a conversation with Amber, the bar supervisor, she said that now everything is open things have been running “absolutely brilliantly”.

She added: “Since we’ve settled in it was obviously a bit rocky at the start, we’ve just been under new management in the past three or four weeks. But now everything is just going perfect.

“The venders have properly settled into their areas, the food is flowing and we all know the bar like the back of our hands now.”

“I expect it’ll get even busier now its the Christmas period and its good having the new bar over there as we’ve all made friends. I’ve got no faults for this place so far.”

As well as the Kargo Mkt food hall, just opposite there is a brand new Severn Brothers bar named 11 Central. This opened its doors on November 16. This bar has food, classic beers on offer, exclusive beers made especially by them as well as refreshing cocktails and soft drinks.

There is a DJ stand, stage for live music and performances and a lovely quayside view.

Erin, one of the bar staff at the new Severn Brothers bar said, “Its been going really well since we’ve opened. Its been really busy.

“The bar food has been going really well, we keep adapting and changing the menu at the moment just to see how it goes.”

Erin said, “I’ve found that a lot of people go over to eat at Kargo then come over here for a few drinks afterwards. Its all just working really well.”
