Salford Red Devils are set to face Castleford Tigers this weekend as they continue their search for a second league victory.
The Red Devils will face the Tigers at the Salford Community Stadium, and will be looking to improve on their most recent performance.
Paul Rowley’s side will be walking to the fixture with a great deal of confidence, as head coach Paul Rowley said after the game: “We hung in and it was probably as good a performance as we’ve had.
“There were some really good things for us.”
And with that confidence boost, the Red Devils will be looking to turn the tide on their league season.
Without a league win since March, the Reds will be hoping that a win against Castleford Tigers will make the difference, and give them a positive run towards the end of the season.
However, this won’t be made easy by a Castleford Tigers side that will be looking for redemption following three consecutive defeats.
The Tigers have been on the back of defeats to Hull KR (0-48), Wigan Warriors (20-26), and most recently Huddersfield Giants (12-30).
And with the away side looking for a win, they will be hungry to capture points, something that will come as a threat to the Red Devils.
Nonetheless, with the arrival of Oliver Russell this week, the Red Devils will be hoping that will be enough to strengthen their squad and build on last weeks performance.
And following the signing, Head Coach Paul Rowley said: “He’s had an injury this year, but he’s been in full training now for a few weeks. Wakefield are on fire at the minute, so he’s joined us for some game time, and obviously with Danny Richardson going back, it filled that gap for us as well.
“Olly’s been a consistent performer, mainly at Huddersfield in his career – he was there for eight years – so this year has probably been a real challenging, exciting year for him – going to different clubs and trying new things.
“He’s a good lad. I know his family well, he has a good family, and we’re really pleased to have him onboard.”
And with a four points gap separating Salford Red Devils and Huddersfield Giants, who have been able to find some recent form – a win will be even more important.
Salford Red Devils will also be hoping for a greater number of support, as it will hope to be an exciting double header at the Salford Community Stadium.
The Red Devils Women will kick off at 12pm, and will act as a curtain raiser, as they take on the Bradford Bulls.
