Eccles residents will be able to visit a pop-up artisan market setting up shop in the town centre on Sunday.
For one day only, 50 independent traders from across Salford and beyond will bring their stalls to Church Street as part of a long-awaited festival featuring performances, installations and live music in venues and public spaces across the town centre.
Local producers ‘The Worsley Bakehouse’ and ‘The Salford Rum Company’ are among the host of street food vendors, bakers and independent makers coming to Eccles on Sunday 29 March from 11am – 4pm.
Salford shoppers searching for a special gift for a loved one or a bite to eat will be able to attend the event for free. Organisers have encouraged visitors to arrive hungry and indulge in the many food stalls available.
There will be award-winning northern honey from Dan and the Bees and authentic Middle Eastern dishes from The Camels Hump Lebanese Street Food, fresh handmade favourites from The Samosa Guy, festival plates from The Teatime Collective, and stone-baked pizzas from Stockport’s The Pizza Maker.
For the adults, there will be craft spirits available from The Salford Rum Company. The local brand takes inspiration from the fruit and spice imports that arrived through Salford Docks in the early 1900s.
Those looking to indulge in delicious local bakery items can enjoy a number of cake stalls.
The Worsley Bakehouse, Stardust Bakery, Sweet Tooth Towers, Totally Baked and Vick Bakes will all be selling their sweet treats.
The Artisan market will be a hotspot for plenty of authentic pieces to buy with a wide mix of independent makers and artists, including handmade jewellery, soaps, gifts and homeware.
Lisa Cowley, owner of Independent Street, the award-winning market organiser behind the event, said: “We are so excited to bring our award-winning markets to Eccles town centre.
