A gallery is celebrating the work of Salford-based photographers and artists – including a first exhibit from a man in his 80s.

Langworthy Cornerstone’s photography and art show ncludes work from first-time exhibitor Joe Sambrook who said: “It has been my ambition to have my own exhibition, and in my 81st year, to have achieved this proves you’re never too old to have a dream come true.”

By focusing on work from homegrown local photographers, the gallery provides a platform that celebrates and supports Salford’s artistic talent.

Fellow exhibitor Keith Driscoll, who enjoys taking pictures of weddings and Salford events, said: “Photography has always been a hobby.”

It can be tough for local artists in Salford to get their work seen, with limited opportunities to showcase their talent. Exhibitions like the one at Langworthy Cornerstone offer a valuable opportunity, providing photographers with a chance to reach the public and gain recognition. Shows like this act as a stepping stone, supporting Salford’s creative community and putting the spotlight on homegrown talent.
