A crash on the M602 in Salford has caused long traffic delays and the closure of the westbound carriageway.
Two cars collided at junction 2 of the M602 where it meets Gilda Brook Road at Trafford Park/ Eccles, causing widespread disruption.
A National Highways spokesperson confirmed that multiple cars had been involved in a collision, leading to significant queues.
A statement posted on social media said: “Following a multiple vehicle collision, the M602 is closed westbound within J2 (Eccles). All emergency services and Traffic Officers are working at the scene. Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads at this stage.”
Greater Manchester Police said that the collision looked like “there’s been a car on top of a car.”
The force confirmed that one of the drivers involved has reportedly suffered “minor injuries,” and said no arrests have been made.
