St Michael’s pub in Eccles is holding a fundraiser this summer in support of a 4-year-old girl from Openshaw who is courageously battling cancer.

The local event was organised by Vicky Donley, a community events coordinator who first heard Imogen’s story through a Morris dancing group raising money.

The fundraiser will be home to many stalls and a raffle, with all money going to the family to help with everything they are currently going through.

Vicky is actively calling on residents for donations to support this important cause and for the word to be spread.

Vicky shared that: “All the stalls have already been filled by local businesses who have also donated things for the raffle.”

“One business even donated two jelly cats, one for Imogen and one for the fundraiser.”

Natalie, Imogen’s mum, shared: “Imogen was full of energy and lived a normal life until the 9th of March.”

“After many tests and blood samples, they found out Imogen had Leukaemia.”

Imogen has currently undergone three surgeries and is expected to undergo a further 16 or more.

She is currently hospital-bound whilst undergoing treatment and will hopefully be back home soon.

Natalie expressed that “Imogen is doing great most of the time. She isn’t as bubbly as she once was, but will surely get back there in no time when life gets back to our new normal.”

The unity of local businesses supporting Imogen and her battles has really shared what the local community is about.

Some of the stalls that will be there on the day are Kelly’s sweet accessories, Milly’s crafts and Fantasy Faces by Shauna.

“This day needs to be big, as this little girl deserves the world,” added Vicky.

“Donations don’t need to be just from businesses; it could be an unopened bottle from your house.”

“The more we have got on the day, the better.”
