Salford residents will head to the polls on 7 May to vote in the upcoming local elections and we’ve compiled a full list of every candidate standing in the contest.
One councillor in each of the city’s 20 wards will be elected to represent their constituents in the council chamber.
This is apart from Cadishead and Lower Irlam, where residents will vote in two councillors instead.
And voters in the Barton and Winton ward will also cast their votes for one of six candidates vying for a council seat in an earlier by-election taking place on 22 April.
Labour currently controls the authority with 50 of the 60 seats.
109 local candidates have been announced, and this year the Conservatives, the Green Party, Labour, and Reform UK are standing candidates in every ward. Meanwhile, 16 people are representing the Liberal Democrats in the city, and there are individual candidates for other parties, including the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition, Advance UK, and Your Party.
For those not already registered to vote, the deadline to register or update your details to allow you to have your say is Monday, 20 April.
The deadline to cast a postal vote is 5pm on Tuesday, 21 April, while people wishing to nominate a trusted person to vote on their behalf must apply for a proxy vote by Tuesday, 28 April.
Anyone without a photo ID can apply for a free voter authority certificate, and the deadline to do so is Tuesday, 28 April.
Voters are reminded that they will need to take ID to polling stations in order to vote.
