Irlam Rotary Club is hosting a community fun day for residents after the success of their VE Day event last year.
The community fun day will take place on Sunday, May 17 at Irlam Steelworks.
It comes following the success of last year’s VE Day celebration, which brought the community together.
Irlam Rotary Club said: “They felt it was important to build on the momentum of last year.”
Jane Williams, President of the Rotary Club, shared that,” Last year showed us what this community can do when people come together.”
“This year we are building on that and making it even bigger and better.”
The fun day is open to the public, no matter the age.
It will consist of free children’s fairground rides and a wide variety of games and stalls run by local groups and organisations.
There will also be live entertainment throughout the day alongside food and refreshment stalls.
The community fun day allows local businesses to gain recognition and support from residents.
The organisers shared that, “The long-term impact is just as important as the day itself.”
“It helps to strengthen community ties and encourages more people to get involved locally.”
The day will start at 11 am and finish at 4pm, and there is no parking on site.
