The Langworthy Cornerstone, a community centre in Salford, will celebrate its 25th anniversary next month on Wednesday November 11.
The centre will be celebrating its past, present and future between 12 and 3pm. For 25 years Langworthy Cornerstone has provided support to locals across Salford, from cooking classes and film nights, to 50p tea and coffee. The centre is also home to a GP practice and provides employment pathways, wellbeing services and social care.
Chief officer Beverley Fletchley has been involved with the centre since it opened in 2001.
She said: “This charity is an anchor in Salford, We are ever-welcoming and always open.
“We’re here for you, the people of Salford.”
David Birchley, who has run a men’s quiz-night group for the past four years at the Cornerstone, says there are still many people in Salford who don’t know what the Cornerstone can offer.
He said: “The only way is to find out is to come, sit down, have a coffee and look at all the photographs around you and talk to people.”
