A fund-raising event at Salford Lads’ club, a Q and A with Oasis star Noel Gallagher, has sold out in under a minute.

Tickets went on sale yesterday at 10:00am and were gone in seconds. Organisers say that more tickets will be available via an upcoming online auction.

The event is being hosted in order to raise funds for Salford Lads’ club and its youth projects.

The manager, Leslie Holmes, said:

“We are all thrilled that Noel is coming to the club to raise funds for Salford Lads’ Club.

“It’s a listed building and every year we have to raise funds not only to support our activities but to maintain the building, so an event like this will be a tremendous help to continue to raise our profile.”

Dr. Kirsty Fairclough, Associate Dean of Research and Innovation at the University of Salford, will be hosting the event and asking the questions to Gallagher.

Dr. Fairclough will be speaking to Noel about his music career, and then for the second part of the evening Kirsty will be reading out selected questions from members of the audience.

The Salford Lads’ Club has had a rich history. It was opened in 1903 in order to provide a more wholesome alternative to the teenage gangs that existed at the time.

It is now the last operating lads’ club in the country.
