Chapati Café, an independent Asian restaurant located on Blue Road, is opening a new eatery in MediaCityUK this week.

The Café will serve fresh, fast curries alongside: Grindsmith Coffee, a plant-based eatery, vertigo plant, Flanagan’s barbers, and MediaCityUK’s general store.

The cafe’s inspiration came from traditional homestyle Indian food, influenced by the Gujarat region for its light curries and delicious vegetarian dishes.

Each week the café will offer a variety of homestyle curries with vegetarian and meat options available.

The Chapati Team has ensured to cater for both takeaway and casual dining, making it a fabulous option for workers and visitors in MediaCityUK on their lunch breaks or days out.

Customers will be able to choose between the popular ‘rice and three’ option, or a small single pot curry from the selection of freshly cooked curries. The curries will be rotated each day, allowing visitors to the café to try a mixture of all the dishes.

In the months ahead, the Chapati Café team is thinking of making an Indian breakfast menu, which will include a North-West Indian take on a classic bacon sandwich, with bhatura, red chilli jam and the Indian breakfast classic, chole bhatura – (sticky chickpeas with fluffy light bhatura bread all served along with their famous homemade Chai).

Founded by Dan Hall and Priti Chauhan-Hall, the husband and wife duo who bonded over their love for food and wanted to pursue their dreams of opening their own eatery, bringing Indian flavours to Manchester and wants to branch out into MediaCity UK.

Priti Chauhan-Hall, Owner and Director of Chapati Café stated: “Our style of cooking is very different to Anglo-Indian curry houses, with our dishes being much lighter, healthier and nutritious, with our recipes being perfected to suit everyday eating, making it the perfect lunch-break or after-work grab and go spot.”
